Casually Dreaming Of My Next Vacation

One thing that I will never take for granted again, is being able to travel so freely around the world. Over these past few months, I was due to go on vacation to Tenerife and Barbados and although I’m so happy to be in my own home, safe and well, it doesn’t stop me from dreaming of where I want to go next in the (hopefully) near future. I will definitely be visiting both of the above places, either this year or next, but I have started dreaming of one country in particular that I just can’t wait to get back to. It’s the country of romance, pizza and some of the best wine in the world, you guessed it – Italy!

When Gareth and I were working on board cruise ships, there were many ports of call within Italy that we were lucky enough to visit. One of them being Rome. This city really took my breath away and this was the start of my budding romance with this beautiful country. The inspiration of this post today comes from Bookings For You, they have some of the most stunning villas that I have ever seen. I had never really thought of staying in a villa before but after seeing what there is out there, it has totally blown my mind. (by the way if you use the code DOORWAYS for a cheeky discount) Talk about luxury! Let’s face it, we could all do with a little luxury right now. Although things are starting to open up a bit now, with the travel corridors, we won’t be booking a trip just yet, but that won’t stop us dreaming will it?

I ask the question, where would I visit next in Italy when I can get the chance? The answer is simple, it would be Tuscany! We actually looked at Tuscany to get married before finding our perfect venue in Greece. Now that I know there are stunning villas out there, the dream would be to get a bunch of friends together and fly out to luxurious Tuscany and dive straight into the delicious vino and Italian cuisine. It’s a place of breathtaking views, culture and is one of the most famous regions in Italy. All I have done for the past hour is search for images of Tuscany and it has just taken my breath away completely.

Here I am with a glass of vino in hand, sat on my balcony looking onto the canal wishing this was at one of those villas in Tuscany. It’s OK though. as I will make it my mission one day to get there and I will come back to this moment in this crazy time that we are currently living in and realise how truly lucky I am to experience something so special. Although, Tuscany is definitely a bucket list moment, there are different parts of Italy that I would love to visit as well. Perhaps even a road trip, that’s if anyone trusts my driving enough to join me!

Ooh wow a villa in Italy sounds absolutely dreamy Vic! I would love to do that right now. As I was reading I could practically taste the pizza and wine ha! We have a Budapest booked for Feb, itโ€™s somewhere Iโ€™ve always wanted to explore so I hope and pray that we can go, and that things are back to โ€˜normalโ€™, whatever normal is these days! Lotsa love, Han xxxx
