Do You Trust The Voice Of The Influencer?

I don’t know why but I’ve never been fond of the word “Influencer”, I prefer to be called a blogger or content creator but “Influencer” is probably one of the most common ways of referring to this job role these days.

I feel very fortunate that my following is growing, which in theory also means that people care about what I have to say and enjoy the content that I put out there. However, there is this stigma around Ads and if we do it for the pay cheque or if we genuinely love the brand and would buy the product/service anyway. I thought I would take this opportunity to let you all know that I can’t speak for anyone else, but for every single product I promote or event that I am able to attend, I will always give you a 100% honest review. Even if I’m not a fan of the product I promise I will let you know.

With the recent change in the ASA regulations (I know I’m late to the game but better late than never) we have to let you know when something is an Ad, even when it’s gifted. I can honestly say that even before the new regulations came in, I was always honest in telling you all whenever I posted an AD – Paid or Gifted. I am still learning the finer details of the new ASA regulations, as I’m sure a lot of bloggers are due to them being slightly confusing.

With this in mind, as an Influencer, I will carry on letting you all know when something is an AD (Gifted or Paid) and if I recommend a product/service or not. If you do have any questions about a brand that I’m working with, a product that I’m trying out or an event that I have recently attended, please feel free to drop me a DM. My door is always open and I love hearing from you.

It will have been a year next month since I started to take blogging and content creating more seriously. Gareth and I are constantly creating new imagery and content that not only we love, but in hopes that you will love it too, as at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about. I have worked with some incredible brands and products so far, which I truly love. I feel very fortunate that Gareth and I have had the opportunities that we have over the past 10 months. We will continue to do what we love and I promise you that I will always be honest, truthful and supportive of you all. Let’s all share the love.

Make sure you’re following me on Instagram for all my latest collaborations.

Media itself is an influencer whether through news articles or puffpiece stories. Being upfront with the “influencer” title is better bc of the fully disclosed aspect.
