Guess whose back! Happy New Year (or am I too late to the game, oops!) As much as I want to say sorry for taking a break from social media, I’m not going to, as this is the whole point of today’s blog post.
I apologize far too much and I’m sure that I’m not alone in this. I’m constantly saying sorry if I haven’t posted on Instagram for a few days, I apologize if I haven’t made the time to see my friends and I say sorry for stupid things that I shouldn’t be sorry for. The moral of the story is sometimes in life we need to take a break and this year that’s exactly how I felt. Last year was super busy for me with brand collaborations which I feel very fortunate to be a part of. Going into 2019, I wanted to start a fresh again and step everything up a gear. I needed to see where I wanted to take my blog and how to improve my content for 2019. This is where I have decided to recruit my wonderful fiancé Gareth – if you wonder who takes my photographs then this is the guy. He is my best friend, Instagram husband – soon to be husband in reality (wow) and super talented photographer. We have been working closely together on some new brand collaborations that will be live over on the blog and my social channels very soon, so keep an eye out as you won’t want to miss them.
If you are in the blogging world or you have a social media presence online, please don’t feel that you have to be constantly posting. If you need to take a break then take one, if you lose a few followers then so be it. Your health is super important and you should never take it for granted. Your loyal followers will always be there. Don’t get me wrong I always feel anxious about it but it’s something that I am learning to deal with.
All in all, I’m back guys but when I feel like I need to take a little break from the social media world, I hope you understand and always have my back. Get excited for future and more regular blog posts and if you’re new to Doorways & Dresses, I hope this post hasn’t put you off as I am a really fun girl (or I like to think so)
I love this post so much and can relate to, I say sorry way to much and most of time it’s not even my fault ! Keep up the good work 😊

Hi Charlotte, thank you so much for reading. Hopefully going forward it’s something we can do less off 🙂 xxx
This is a great post. I’m new to blogging and can totally relate to this post. I’m known to be super apologetic all the time, even if it’s not my fault.

Thanks for reading Sarah-Jane. It’s something I’m still working on and think it will take time. Within the social media world when you feel like taking a break, take one. It’s so good for the soul and mind ❤️
Oh girl I feel this lol. Great post!
