New Makeup Products I’m Trying And Loving

Whilst we’ve been in lockdown, I thought I would take this opportunity to expand my makeup collection. I will be the first to admit that once I find a brand and product that I love, I will rarely experiment with other makeup brands. You could say that I’m sometimes a bit set in my ways when it comes to makeup and this is something that I wanted to change. You might be asking, why on earth have you been buying makeup products when we haven’t been able to leave the house, and rightly so. For me, getting dressed in the morning and applying my makeup makes me feel productive and ready for the day ahead. Don’t get me wrong, there have been days where I have been makeup-free, stayed in my pjs all day and lived the no bra life – (who hasn’t right?). Here is a rundown of a few of my beauty buys and what I thought of them.

Estée Lauder – Double Wear Foundation

This foundation has been such a firm favourite of mine that I just had to purchase another one. I know what you’re thinking and I did say that I was going to try different brands but I can assure you, after this product, they are all new to me. If you are on the lookout for a new foundation, I couldn’t recommend this one more. It’s a stay-in place foundation and contains SPF10. My shade is Ivory Beige and is the perfect tone for me. The one thing I will say is that it can appear quite heavy sometimes so the key thing to remember is that less is more. My sister-in-law actually recommended that I mix the foundation with a serum and then apply with a beauty blender. I tried this and can confirm that it works like a dream and leaves your skin feeling hydrated. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Charlotte Tilbury – Magic Away Liquid Concealer

I have been searching for a new concealer for a while now and after watching Jamie Genevieve’s latest ad with Charlotte Tilbury, I knew that I had to give it a try. I bought this concealer in 6 medium and the shade is perfect for my skin tone. It’s not the cheapest, at £24.00, but so far I am really enjoying it. The only criticism I have is that I’ve only used it a handful of times and it seems to be running out already, but I would still recommend it. It’s super lightweight and doesn’t sit in any wrinkles which is a huge plus for me haha.

Nars – Climax Mascara

My favourite mascara of all time is one from the brand Chanel but if I am being totally honest, I also love a number of high street mascaras. I have seen people rave about the Nars Climax Mascara and I was really curious to see if it lived up to expectations. I can confirm that it’s a great mascara and does everything that it claims to. It doesn’t clump or smudge and applies lots of volume to your lashes. It’s pretty great actually.

Laura Mercier – Artist Eyelash Curler

I can confirm that the Laura Mercier eyelash curler is one of my favourite products of all time. I don’t have the longest of eyelashes but once I have applied the eyelash curlers, my lashes look like I have had my LVL’s done. It’s an amazing tool and I couldn’t recommend it more.

Lancome – Long Lasting Lipstick

Lipsticks is probably the one thing that I couldn’t live without. I recently purchased a very bold choice of lipstick from the brand Lancome. I have used this brand before and I really loved it, so I thought I would have another look on their website. I always find their lipsticks to be quite hydrating and for someone who suffers with dry lips, this is a major plus for me. I decided to buy the shade Rouge Flamboyant and I’m obsessed. When I first opened the parcel (by the way, Lancome have the most beautiful packaging), I was worried that the shade wouldn’t suit me. Like I said, this was quite a bold choice for me and I have been searching for a red lipstick for some time now. As soon as I applied the lipstick, I was hooked. It’s a hydrating red lipstick with an orange tinge and is a bit of a statement too.

Charlotte Tilbury – Pillow Talk Lipstick and Lip Liner

Whilst I was on the hunt for a new concealer on the Charlotte Tilbury website, I came across the new pillow talk collection which I have heard everyone rave about. The lipsticks and liners are quite expensive if you haven’t tried them before, so I decided to buy the travel edition in shade medium to see if I liked the brand first. When the products arrived and I saw the shade, I fell in love. It’s something that I would wear on a daily basis and the size is perfect for travel. I will definitely be investing in some more very soon.

I can highly recommend the pillow talk range. I am obsessed and I only bought the travel size products so I will definitely invest in some of the full size ones soon šŸ™‚

Thanks so much Streph šŸ™‚ Ahh really? I know the double wear can be quite heavy. Yes, I honestly couldn’t recommend the eyelash curlers more. They are one of my favourite items right now xxx
