Sports massage?… think Revive

Every year I say to myself, I am going to head to the gym and get fit for my next holiday to gain that summer body! and every year I fail. I am sure I am not alone in thinking that we can get these quick fixes at the gym. It has taken me a long time to realise that it’s a lifestyle change. Something my fiancé reminds me of all the time and he’s totally right. I decided to make a change for the better and incorporate healthy foods and working out as part of a routine in my lifestyle and although it’s still early days, I’m really enjoying it so far.

I’m sat at a desk all day and now that I have been heading back to the gym, I thought it was time I looked into getting a massage. It was such good timing when Revive Sports Massage team emailed me to see if I would be interested in doing a collaboration with them. I jumped at the chance as I always struggle with time due to my busy lifestyle. So I was super happy to find out that they were actually a mobile sports massage group that come to your home whenever it’s convenient for you.

I headed on over to their website to book online, which is so hassle-free and you can see all the available dates and times. I booked on a Wednesday evening and had confirmation straight away. Graham is very responsive via email and got in touch with me a few days before to see if it was still a convenient time. I was quite nervous when Wednesday finally came, as I have never had a sports massage before.  A sports massage is designed to revive and restore soft tissue for your muscles, skin, ligaments and tendons – something I definitely needed.

It was a little painful at the bottom of my back and my right shoulder, which was to be expected as I am right handed and always carry my handbag on my right shoulder, which puts more pressure on that side. Something I have never thought about until Graham asked. Now, I rotate how I carry my handbag (strange I know, but needs must). The next day, my back was a little sore but I felt less tense and super relaxed.

Taking care of yourself is a necessity, which a lot of the time we all take for granted. We find excuses like “I don’t have the time” or you would rather spend your money on something else. I realised now more than ever that I am growing up and want to take care of my body. Do yourself a favour if you are in the Yorkshire area. head on over to Revive and book your massage today. I promise you won’t regret it.
