Whittard of Chelsea has kindly sent over a selection of their products for me to review and share with you all. Last year my boss bought the team a salted caramel hot chocolate and it’s safe to say when I brought it home, it didn’t last long at all. So I’m very excited to share my views on all the items I received with you all (including the salted caramel hot chocolate that first got us hooked on the brand as it was just that good!).
First, let’s talk coffee! If you didn’t know this already, I started drinking coffee just over a year ago now – I’m a late bloomer I know but I love it now. Whittards sent over two different flavours, which I had requested to try: Vanilla Ground Coffee and Guatemala Elephant Medium Dark Roast – delish!
This coffee is described as an aromatic roast with a creamy vanilla-pod sweetness and to be fair, that’s the exact flavour that comes through. You can really taste the vanilla from the very first sip and it will definitely leave you dreaming of your next cup . Give it a try!
No wonder the Guatemala Elephant is one of their best selling coffees. You can smell the coffee beans as soon as you open the bag, and I could hardly wait for it to finish brewing (I was that excited to try it haha). I didn’t know this, but the lovely team at Whittard told me that the reason it’s called Guatemala Elephant is that the coffee beans are larger than normal beans and this is what gives it it’s extra flavour.
Now on to my Hot Chocolate selection eeeeek! First of all, the lovely team sent over three different flavours all of which are suitable for vegans. So let’s get to it.
I love everything peanut butter, so as you can imagine I was very excited to hear that Whittard sells a peanut butter hot chocolate. I just had to have it. The peanut butter hot chocolate is made in a nut-free factory and Whittard did say to me that it’s suitable for people with nut allergies as it’s made without nuts, Huge Thumbs up here guys!
“It’s not Whittards – it’s mine” The ideal hot chocolate for these Wintery nights, zesty orange with rich smooth chocolate will make you feel warm in no time after being out in the cold UK temperatures. It’s the perfect way to end the day for me as typically on an evening, I like to cuddle up in bed with a movie and hot chocolate – very rock ‘n’ roll I know.
I said I wasn’t going to have a favourite, as they are all so good but I’m sorry this one trumps the rest for me personally. Maybe it has something to do with my childhood, who knows. The rich flavours of marshmallow, cherry & biscuit are so divine that even whilst I’m writing this, I have gone to make myself one. Try Whittards British twist on their Rocky Road and I promise you won’t regret it.
This one wasn’t gifted but I just had to include it in my review. This one is perfect and lasted all of two seconds – I’m not even ashamed about it. Everyone needs some salted caramel in their lives and when I discovered it in a hot chocolate it just made my dreams come true. Super chic!
One pretty cool fact that I found out about Whittards of Chelsea is that the founder, Walter Whittard, launched his first London shop back in 1886, wowzer! This is super impressive and I feel so honoured to be writing a review for this incredible brand. Walter’s philosophy was simple – buy the best! 130 years later and we’re still doing just that.
