If you didn’t already know, Gareth and I moved into our very first unfurnished apartment a few months ago and we absolutely love it! As we all know, often when you are renting furnished apartments, the mattresses that come with them aren’t the best and we never ask how old they are. We certainly didn’t ask this question when moving into previous properties and never dreamed of asking if they are memory foam mattresses or good for you to sleep on in general. These are probably questions that we should’ve asked but we just got on with it, as we don’t really want to cause a fuss. When we first moved into our new place, we were aware that we would need to purchase a new mattress for our bed but this is something that I have never needed to do before. I wasn’t really aware of all the health benefits of a good quality mattress and how it can really improve your sleep patterns, so I was very happy to hear that Leesa wanted to collaborate with me. They really are a great brand and a serious contender in the industry.
Before we moved into our apartment, I purchased a mattress for £90.00 and I know what you are all thinking – “she must have known that it was going to be terrible for that price”. But I didn’t. I had no idea how much mattresses cost and what was the best brand to go for. I could have cried when I received the mattress! It was meant to be half memory foam and half spring. It was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my life and I knew right away that I couldn’t have another night’s “sleep” on it.
When I first received my very own Leesa mattress, I was like a kid who had just tasted chocolate cake for the very first time. I was so excited! The mattress sounded so luxurious, it even has a layer of cooling Avena foam for a cooler and more comfortable nights’ sleep – sounded right up my alley! The mattress itself arrives compressed in a branded Leesa box. There are clear instructions on the box on how to unpack your mattress (which helped me out a lot). To be honest with you, it was really simple to set up. It’s fantastic to point out that for every ten mattresses sold, they donate one to charity – such a good cause.
I have been sleeping on my Leesa mattress for nearly a month now and I can honestly say that I could tell the difference even after the first night of sleeping on it – I slept like a baby. I used to experience a bit of back pain, especially since I’ve been going to the gym more often these days. The Leesa mattress has really helped with that. If you’re moving home at some point soon then just keep this all in mind, as you don’t want to make the same mistake that I did. You will 100% feel the benefits within a week and you won’t remember what took you so long. If you are unsure about purchasing a mattress from Leesa, it’s good to mention that they offer free delivery and returns. You also receive a 10-year warranty and a 100-night no strings attached trial, so if you are not happy with the mattress you can return it within that time frame, simple as that. They are also really competitively priced and you get a lot of mattress for your money – plus, you can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep.
If you have trouble sleeping, a great mattress makes all the difference. I also have a few tips for you below:
Stay off Social Media When You’re In Bed
This is easier said than done, don’t worry we have all been there. You have the intentions of having an early night, you get into bed and check your emails or Instagram page and then you are eventually off to sleep an hour later. Instead of being on social media whilst in bed, read a good book instead. This always makes me tired and is something that I really need to start doing more often.
Have a Good Soak
Having a nice long soak in the bath is something that I rarely do in summer but with winter on the horizon, it’s time to fill that tub just before bed and relax. Everyday life can make us stressed at times and when you get home, you need to leave your worries at the door. I always feel like a new person and am ready for bed after a good soak in the tub.
Stay Away From Caffeine Late at Night
I guess this is common sense but as a new coffee drinker, I have noticed that many people drink coffee late at night. We all drink caffeine because not only do we enjoy it but it’s our little friend for a perk-me-up in the morning or during the day when your eyes feel like shutting in a meeting or something. You should stay away from caffeine at night if you’re keen on getting a good night’s sleep.
I honestly couldn’t recommend Leesa mattresses enough and as a gift to all my readers, you’ll receive £100.00 off your Leesa mattress when you order using the DOORWAYSANDDRESSES code.
Some links in this post are affiliate links, which means I may receive a small percentage of the sale if you click and purchase. This is a sponsored post but as always all my opinions and views are my own.
I’m so happy you did a collaboration! Having a good mattress is the key, I couldn’t sleep on the bad ones.
