I was shocked that I had even the hint of the dreaded wedding blues! I remember getting back to our hotel room and looking at Gareth where we both breathed a sigh of relief that we had pulled off a fantastic wedding. I honestly had the best day of my life, however it was also the most stressful. Like I have said in previous posts, I was very thankful that I had the best wedding planner, who was always on call whenever I had any worries or issues. I don’t think that we could have planned a wedding abroad on our own along with working full time and working on my blog.
I experienced a mix of emotions when we flew back from Greece. As much as I was happy that we were officially married and that it was over, I was also a little sad. I actually wanted to go back and do it all over again because I just wanted to take in every single second. Here are a few of my tips that might help you out with those dreaded wedding blues.
Plan Your Honeymoon
Gareth has booked our honeymoon for us (if you weren’t aware of this already) and we’re off next month. Eeeeeek! I’m literally so excited and I just can’t wait. I would definitely advise anyone to not go straight away on your honeymoon and keep it as something to look forward to. To be honest, I don’t think I would have enjoyed going on honeymoon straight away as we were both so exhausted from the wedding and entertaining. This has kept me going, knowing that I have something still connected to my wedding and the fact it’s a surprise, I just can’t wait. This will definitely kick those wedding blues.
Have a Mini-Moon
This is something that I wished we would have done but to be honest, we just haven’t had the time. The blog has been crazy busy and we both went back to work full time but I would highly recommend a little mini moon if you can’t wait for your honeymoon. Even if it’s just booking a nice hotel in the next town, it will be so special and well needed.
Receiving your Wedding Photos & Video
What can I say? I love my wedding photos but when I received my wedding video, I just cried and cried. I love it so much and it looks just like a movie. It was actually really heart warming to watch and made me realise even more that we had the most special and unique day in Greece.
Be The Awesome Wedding Couple
It has taken a while for met to get used to the fact that I’m a wife. It’s unreal and I feel very grown up but in reality we’re just the same fun loving goofy couple that we have always been. Marriage is something that I never really craved but now I have it, it’s just the most beautiful thing ever and I’m loving every single minute of it. We’re actually going to start A-Z dating! Thanks to my beautiful best friend Lisa, who is currently doing this with her boyfriend Phil, I really wanted a piece of the action and I decided that Gareth and I will also do the A-Z dating. Basically, you start with the letter A and for instance I would choose maybe something like Archery etc and then Gareth would have the letter B where he could choose beer tasting etc. Hopefully this makes sense and you get my drift but I mean how fun would this be guys.
