Gareth and I recently headed down to London for a well deserved break and a catch up with family. Overall, we had an incredible time and we mostly stayed around Covent Garden and spent the majority of time in Wimbledon which I definitely wasn’t complaining about. I was blown away with how stunning Wimbledon village is and I couldn’t recommend visiting more. I thought I would catch you all up and let you know all about my latest trip to London.
Day 1
Gareth and I travelled down to London from Leeds and before heading to see the family, we had a little pit stop at Covent Garden. I used to visit London all the time with work and there was one place in Covent Garden that I just had to show Gareth. If you are looking for a very classic pub feel, look no further. The Coach and Horses in Covent Garden has been voted the best Guinness in the UK and for someone who doesn’t drink Guinness, I turned to Gareth to see what he thought and he confirmed it was the best! So there you have it. We also tucked into their famous salt beef sandwiches which were just divine.
Whilst we were leaving, we spotted the classic British phone boxes which were literally around the corner from the pub and of course, I had to take a quick shot there. The Coach and Horses are situated right around the corner from the tube station and if you weren’t feeling a pub lunch, there are so many different options.
I can’t wait to explore more of Covent Garden but one place I do love to visit when I am down there is Neal’s Yard. It’s such a colourful part of Covent Garden and a must when you visit. Now it’s time to say goodbye to Covent Garden and head to Wimbledon.
Day 2
After a boozy night of catching up, it’s safe to say that we were all feeling a little fragile. Whilst the fam had some work to do, G and I headed out for a walk around Wimbledon Village and stopped for a bite to eat at the Dog and Fox. We opted for some burgers and a cheeky gin and a cider – we’re on holiday after all! Soon after, we met up with family and stopped for a cheeky cocktail at Megan’s café- very Instagrammable. We then went for a walk around Wimbledon Common and it was so beautiful, it actually reminded me of Roundhay Park in Leeds. That evening, we went and had drinks at Crooked Billet and sat outside on the deck chairs.
Day 3
On day 3, the football was on and we had booked tables at the Dog and Fox and headed for dinner there. The overall atmosphere was incredible and was such a lovely vibe. There are so many different places to eat and drink in Wimbledon Village and I could honestly live there. It’s such a cute place and doesn’t feel like you’re in London at all. We headed to bed and the next day was home time.
We had such an amazing time in London and I honestly can’t wait to head back down there and explore different areas. I used to go all the time but there are still so many places that I am yet to visit. I have posted some Reels on Instagram from our trip if you did want to check them out here!
See you soon London xxx
