When I first purchased the now famous white polka dot Zara dress at the beginning of the Summer, I literally had no idea how much of a trendy fashion item was about to become. Granted, I actually saw the dress on one of my favourite Instagrammers and thought it would be perfect for my hen party, but I didn’t think every Tom, Dick & Harry would be wearing it soon after! I believe it started to blow up on social media a month or so after I had bought it (I of course set of the trend, JOKES!) and I literally couldn’t walk to work without seeing someone wearing it. The story of when two girls ended up at a BBQ wearing the same dress and in a black leather jacket, I mean – how would you feel? would it bother you? or would you brush it off and laugh? I would like to think I would laugh it off, after an awkward moment or two of course.
When I posted an image of me wearing the dress on social media, I didn’t even realise that the dress had it’s own hashtag and it was hilarious to see dozens of pictures of users wearing the dress including myself. It’s one of the most comfortable dresses I own and I love it. I guess it asks the question of will you still wear your dress knowing that hundreds of people are also wearing it? Will it remain in the wardrobe until everything calms down a little or will you embrace it and become part of “THAT” Zara dress crew? The thing is it’s the perfect dress for summer and winter, as you can dress it up with a casual jacket and leather boots – no wonder it’s done so well!
News Alert!!! They have just released the reverse version of it, black with white polka dots. OMG! I actually think I need this in my life – maybe no one will buy it in case the trend happens again? Who cares, I’m all for it and I’m sure you will be too!
