Why I Sometimes Escape To The Countryside

If you didn’t know, I was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and I currently live in Leeds. Even though I grew up in the Canary Islands, I will always be a true Yorkshire girl at heart. Yorkshire as a whole is one of my favourite places to be in the UK, there’s just so much to do and see. Everyone needs to visit Yorkshire! With living in the city centre of Leeds, sometimes it can become a little overwhelming and you crave the countryside.

Being stuck in the apartment for so much of the past 2 years has definitely made me crave the outdoors and to be at one with nature again. If I am truly honest, I equally love the city and the countryside but I do feel extremely lucky that I can visit the outdoors whenever I like, as it’s literally on our doorstep.

This year, I have found myself travelling back to South Yorkshire as soon as I have had the opportunity to do so and I have a few more trips to the countryside coming up so watch this space. Another reason why I love to escape the city is the noise! As you can imagine, it’s very noisy living in a city and sometimes I crave the peace and quiet of it all. From taking the dogs for a walk, visiting countryside pubs and literally hearing nothing but the birds is true bliss.

Sometimes, work can overshadow everything else and we should all have a small piece of paradise nearby where we can escape to. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to hop on a flight to Greece and be at one with the ocean as that’s my happy-place, however, this year hasn’t really allowed that to happen – until recently that is (to a certain extent).

If you don’t feel comfortable flying abroad right now, I really couldn’t recommend Yorkshire enough for your UK getaways. Like I said earlier, I am truly proud to be from Yorkshire and there is so much for you to see and do here.
