How To Style An Oversized Shirt For All Seasons

If you have been following me over on Instagram, you will know how obsessed I am with oversized shirts and this one in particular has been making an appearance on my feed since our honeymoon back in November 2019. I bought this oversized stipe shirt from Zara and there are so many great alternatives out there at the moment.

I am trying to be much better with my purchases and I only buy items that I know can be versatile and last all year. What I mean by this is that I am not buying one dress just for one event, as I personally feel it’s such a waste if you’re just going to wear it once. I originally bought this shirt for a cover up on the beach, however, since then I have worn it throughout the seasons and it’s still in great condition. Here are a few tips on how to style an oversized shirt across the seasons…

Oversized Shirt

As a cover up on the beach

As mentioned above, originally I bought this short as a cover up for the beach for our honeymoon and I practically lived in it. An oversized shirt is a great addition to any holiday and it’s perfect to dress with a one piece or bikini when you’re heading for a walk on the beach or a quick pit-stop at the bar. Team it up with a big pair of sunglasses and it makes the most chic outfit.

With shorts

This Summer in the UK has been ok so far, but I hear the heatwave is coming, bring it on! Since we have been between different temperatures on a daily basis, an oversized shirt is the perfect look to match with a pair of denim or linen shorts. Style it with a basic tee underneath or tuck one side into the shorts for a more quirky style and match with your favourite fedora. I know you know that I love my hats right?

Style with leggings or jeans

During the colder months, you will still get so much wear out of your shirts so don’t pack them away just yet. I have teamed mine up with leggings and a pair of boots or trainers for a more casual look. You can even team your shirt with a pair of dark ripped jeans and a pair of boots for the Winter months. Add a belt around the waist to dress up the look.

Casual styling at home

Mix it up with a your favourite loungewear set for chilling at home or heading to the supermarket for your weekly shop. Comfort is key in my book.
