It’s been so long since I wrote a beauty post! With planning a wedding, working full time and blogging I guess you could say beauty posts took a bit of a back seat. A few weeks ago I went hunting for a new lipstick and I have been loving the Maybelline smoky rose matte colour lately, so I was tempted to purchase the same one again. I stumbled across the Lancôme counter (as you do) and noticed that they had some great deals on.
Granted £25.00 is expensive for a lipstick and lip-liners cost just over £10.00, however, when you purchase two items you receive three free gifts. This always gets my attention and I know it shouldn’t but you really can’t beat that offer. I thought I would share a bit about my purchases with you all and give you my feedback on each of the products.
Lancôme Lipstick
First of all, let’s talk about how sexy the packaging is. Very classy and chic! It’s a very similar shade to the Maybelline smoky rose matte colour and is perfect for that classic statement lip. I also suffer from dehydrated lips sometimes, however, the Lancôme lipstick is very moisturising. Like I said before, the price tag is a little steep but after you see the packaging and the benefits of using it you will fall in love. If I was stranded on a desert island and someone said you could only take one piece of makeup, it would be a lipstick (it always brightens up my day). I also feel that I would need an eyeliner and mascara but that’s defeating the object.
Lancôme Lip-liner
Where there’s lipstick, there’s a lip-liner. I would say nine times out of ten, I always apply a lip-liner with my lipstick. It’s just the perfect look for more of a bolder statement to the lip. I am very loyal to my Rimmel Cappuccino lip-liner but it’s been really cool to try out something new and in a different colour. The lip-liner matches the lipstick perfectly and is the ideal duo to use together. If lip-liner isn’t your thing then just use the lipstick solo as it works just as well.
Eau Micellaire Confort Micellar Water
I have been on the lookout for a new cleanser and makeup remover so I was delighted to hear that this was one of the free products that I would get to try out. I have been using the Guinot Cleansing Milk for a while now and it’s time I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new. It’s hydrating and soothing micellar water with acacia honey and rose water; sounds bliss! I suffer from dry skin so this was the perfect hydrating cleanser to tackle my impurities. As soon as I get home from work, I throw on my sweatpants and hoodie and take my makeup off straight away (which is the best feeling in the world). For a 200 ML on the Lancôme website it retails for £23.50 which I honestly don’t think is too bad.
Advanced Génifique Serum
This is something that I am very excited to talk about. The serum was voted number 1 for younger-looking and glowing skin with over 7,000 5-star reviews. I mean wow! I am loving this serum and so happy that I got to try this product. It’s well needed on my bathroom shelf. I am making the most of my little gift as it’s not a big bottle and they retail at £50.00 for 30ml. Very steep price tag but with the reviews, it really does make it all worthwhile. As I am getting older, I do want a product that is going to target the fine lines. I have only just started using this serum so I will get back to you guys at a later date.
La Vie Est Belle Parfum
I’m so happy that I finally got to try the Lancôme perfume range and this is one that I am loving so far. It’s the perfect little bottle and slips in my bag on my travels. I am not very adventurous when it comes to my perfume and I tend to stick the brands that I know and the scents that I love. In this day and age, it’s always good to try different things and that is something I challenge myself to do every day. The scent is very feminine and the translation is ‘life is beautiful’. It’s refreshingly modern with a hint of jasmine, fruity blackcurrant and pear. I just love it.
I’ve never tried anything Lancôme! I wouldn’t mind splashing out on a lipstick, but that’s quite expensive when it comes to skin care! X

To be fair I wouldn’t normally but I really do love the lipstick and lipliner and I got the other items for free so was a bonus really. It’s definitely not an everyday Lipstick for the price, have to make the most of it xxx
