Sometimes I feel that many of us forget to put down the phone, turn of the TV, close the laptop and find some time to really unwind. I will admit that I am extremely guilty of this and I really struggle to relax as I feel that I am always on the go. I had a firm word with myself and realised that I needed a break, so this morning, I have had a fun time of just pure relaxation and I can’t wait to share with you my top three tips:
Listening to music
I love listening to all different types of music and growing up, I literally used to sit at the side of my CD player (yes, I am old haha) and pretend that it was me singing and I would picture myself in the music video dancing around haha. Did anyone else do this? Well, although I don’t do this anymore, I did take some time to make a coffee and just sit and appreciate the music instead of just having it on in the background whilst I’m working.
Playing some online games
I came across a free online gaming site and it features some games that I used to play growing up. One of the games, was Solitaire, did anyone else used to play this? This is such a good game that you literally play by yourself and no word of a lie, I played this game all morning haha. It was so much fun and I am ashamed to say that I only won once but that was enough for me haha. I then had a look at what other games was on the site and I came across Word Search. This really did bring back all the memories of watching my Nan fill in the word search in the magazines and newspapers. I gave it a go and once again, I was hooked but I am proud to say that I managed to find all the words within 9 minutes.
Reading a book
I will be the first to admit that I don’t really read that often but this is something that I am trying to change. I actually used to love reading but then I found myself just not having the time. I guess that’s the whole point of this blog post, is that we need to find the time for ourselves. I carried on a reading a book which I have had for such a long time now and it’s a thriller so I am going to try and finish it before the end of the year which I feel is a realistic goal.
There are so many ways that you can take time to yourself, from heading to the gym to meeting friends for a coffee. This morning was just incredible and I really loved playing some online games, catching up on my reading and listening to new and old tunes. What are three things that you love to do to really unwind and relax?
