Why You Should Consider Having A Wedding Planner

Recently, I have had a few people ask me if they should use a wedding planner for their destination wedding and how I found the whole process. It inspired me to write this post today to share with you my own experience of having a wedding planner and why I wouldn’t have it any other way. They Can Help You With Your Budget

Our budget varied all the time throughout the year and the one item that I didn’t realise was so expensive was the flowers. I initially wanted a flower archway above the church but it was ridiculously expensive and to be honest in the end, it just didn’t need it. Our venue was just so stunning that it didn’t really need much decor. When I went back to my wedding planner we explained that it cost too much and she didn’t make me feel bad about it or anything and wasn’t pushy at all. She understood and came back to me with so many other options. I completely trusted her judgement. Gareth and I told Nikki our budget and she worked so well with it to get us the best deals and produce the wedding of a lifetime.

It’s All About The Connections

Nikki is originally from the island and she knows all the locals. From the flowers to the wedding favours and the DJ, she literally knew everyone which was a huge weight off our shoulders. A wedding planner will have done this thousands of times and will only want the best for your big day, so put your trust in them.

It Will Save You Time

There are endless phone calls with vendors and countless amounts of research that you’ll need to do online, having a wedding planner took the stress away from us and made it so we really enjoyed the whole process. Our contact was basically Nikki, any issues and problems we had, she was there. I’m not even kidding when I say, I must have sent a thousand emails and Nikki literally replied to every single one within 24 hours and she had just had a baby. Talk about being dedicated to your job.

They Are There When Things Go Wrong

I don’t want to panic you but sometimes things do go wrong and can be out of your control. This is a nightmare for a destination wedding. For instance, our celebrant was sick and couldn’t marry us. What would we have done? How could we have got another celebrant in time? Nikki jumped in and married us which she had done for so many other couples, this was such a relief. There were a few minor things as well that didn’t go according to plan but Nikki was there each step of the way.

I hope this helps you decide on whether you require a wedding planner or not. By all means if you don’t feel like you need one then don’t, but based on our experience, I can highly recommend this.

If you are getting married in Crete and you’re looking for a wedding planner, let me know and I will introduce you to the amazing Nikki.
