My review on Crowne Plaza Solihull

So it was my fiancé’s great Uncle’s 70th birthday and we had been invited to go down to Birmingham to celebrate with all of them. I have been down to Birmingham before when I used to work for GAP, I went and did merchandising training at the store there and really enjoyed my time in Birmingham. The venue was in Solihull, so I started googling hotels and went onto booking.com where I came across the Crowne Plaza hotel.

I have stayed in a Crowne Plaza before when I was in London but that was a long time ago so I was interested to see how the hotel would be and if they still lived up to their reputation. We caught the train from Leeds to Birmingham New Street and then we had to change to Birmingham Moor Street (which is the cutest train station ever) and is literally a 5 minute walk and then we were off to our final destination Solihull. It was pretty straight forward and it was only  a 10 minute walk to the hotel.

As soon as you walk into the hotel you are presented with this very stylish lobby which has been designed beautifully, for me it is always the first impressions that count the most. We were greeted with big smiles from the front of house team, they were super friendly and got us checked in and then we were off to our room.

Our room was perfect, I loved it. The design of the room was fashionably elegant with a quirky twist. There was some bottled water and little goodies for us to enjoy, which if you have read my previous blogs you will be aware that I love the little things and think they make such a great first impression. The girls on the front desk even called the room to make sure everything was fine and if we needed anything, that for me goes a long way. I couldn’t fault the service that we received in this hotel.

We headed out of the hotel just to explore the surroundings and were very surprised to find a shopping mall just opposite. It was huge so obviously we decided to take a little wander around. After our long stroll, we started to get a little hungry and came across a Slug and Lettuce, so we pulled in there to have some lunch. Something to point out about the Slug and Lettuce Solihull is that it’s 2 for 1 on cocktails all day, every day. The strawberry mojito was my favourite.

After our bbq smothered burgers we decided to head back to the hotel and freshen up for our evening with the family. Before we headed out we decided to head down to the terrace and have a drink overlooking the beautiful grounds, it was so peaceful and relaxing.

When morning arrived, we explored the hotel a little more to where we found a swimming pool and gym. Unfortunately we didn’t have breakfast at the hotel as we had arranged to meet all the family in a nearby bar and have breakfast with them, however I did had a nosy in the morning and it did look divine.

All in all our stay at the Crowne Plaza Solihull was wonderful and I would totally recommend it to anyone. From all the staff who were super friendly and happy to help, to the stylish design of the hotel, the swimming pool and gym and the terrace area; it really did make our stay a very relaxing one and I had the best night’s sleep. Also if you forget to take your toothpaste, deodorant or any other toiletries they do have a beautiful section where you can purchase any items.

So if you are thinking of a trip to Solihull, then do yourself a favour and book into the Crowne Plaza hotel, you won’t regret it.

That bed looks comfy and cozy, but that strawberry mojito looks good. Some people don’t like a mall near the hotel, but I always find it convenient especially when traveling with kids.

Me too, a mini break is the best way to explore different places. Luckily I didn’t forget any products but at least I would have had a back up plan if I did 🙂 xxx
