Discovering AlUla – The Most Unique Travel Guide!

I work full-time in Social Media for a Luxury Travel Company, and sometimes I get the chance to go on trips to create content for our social channels and showcase different properties and destinations. Whenever I’m asked, I always reply with a big YES! Last year, I was invited to check out AlUla in Saudi Arabia, and I couldn’t say no. It’s definitely one of the most unique places I’ve ever been to. So here is my AlUla Travel Guide for you.

Hidden in the expansive deserts of northwest Saudi Arabia, AlUla boasts incredible beauty, a deep history, and contemporary marvels. For more than 7,000 years, it has served as a meeting point for various civilizations, showcasing a vibrant mix of culture, art, and nature. If you’re on the lookout for a unique travel spot, AlUla is a gem just waiting to be discovered. In this blog post, I will share where we stayed and everything we got up to:

Accommodation

I had an amazing time at the beautiful Habitas AlUla, where I got my own villa and was totally impressed right away. The room was unique and so tranquil. Plus, we had e-bikes to cruise around the resort. While we were there, we also checked out Banyan Tree AlUla, which was another gorgeous spot, with each villa featuring its own private pool. I would highly recommend both of these properties.

Hegra

Dive into the history of AlUla and discover its ancient cultures while exploring how people once lived. We took a guided tour, and it was super informative. You definitely shouldn’t miss it when you visit AlUla!

Elephant Rock

Elephant Rock is such a standout feature of AlUla, rising 52 meters high! I was super lucky to see it from a helicopter on my first ride ever. It was an amazing experience! You can also check out Elephant Rock yourself and enjoy a drink while soaking in the stunning views.

Stargazing

This was such a one-of-a-kind experience that totally caught me off guard. We headed out to the desert for some stargazing with our own guide, who taught us all about the stars. It was super chill and really enlightening.

The Food

The food in AlUla was absolutely amazing at every place we tried. I didn’t have a single bad meal and I could go on and on about how great everything was. The mocktails were super tasty too!

I get that AlUla isn’t for everyone, and that’s totally cool! But honestly, I had an amazing time and loved everything we did there. There’s a ton to explore, like Maraya, which is this stunning mirror-covered building that holds a Guinness World Record. It’s a versatile venue where big names like Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys have performed.
