I love Halloween and back in my younger days, I was the head of the party and a strong lover of fancy dress. Granted, I still love a good fancy dress but nowadays I have a different kind of evening planned out. A few years ago Gareth and I held a Halloween party at our apartment and it was awesome but this year we’re doing things a little different. With Halloween fast approaching, I thought I would share with you my ideal evening and what I have planned for this spooky tradition.
Bring on the Sweets
Yessss! This is what I’m talking about. We live in an apartment block and we don’t tend to get children trick or treating which is a shame but also I do really think it’s a weird concept. I never got why you would let your children go and knock on stranger’s doors for sweets, maybe it’s because I didn’t really grow up celebrating Halloween. What’s your thoughts on this? This year we headed to Poundland to get hold of a bunch of chocolate and sweets, perfect for my Halloween diet.
Spooky Cocktails
I have literally just come up with this concept as I was writing this blog post and I think this would be epic to do. I’m going to head back to Poundland for some decorations to style the cocktails. Whose with me on this? If you have any recipes for me on the best cocktails, leave them below so I can try them out.
Movie Time
How can you not watch a horror movie on Halloween? I mean, I am the biggest scardy cat EVER! I literally hold a cushion in front of my eyes the whole way through, but I’ll make an exception for Halloween. I’m going to write a separate list of Halloween movies that you need to watch this month so watch this space. Comment below with your favourtie Halloween movies and I will include them in my next blog post.
Pumpkin Carving
I really wanted to go to a Pumpkin field this year but I just didn’t have the time, which I’m super sad about, so Gareth and I headed off to Tesco to get our pumpkins. To be fair, they have a cracking offer on, you can buy 2 for £3.00. Bargain! I have never carved a pumpkin in my life, so I have a feeling this is going to be hilarious. I’ll post them on Instagram Stories once they’re done, so make sure you’re following me on the gram.
So there you have it! Not very exciting but I feel this is just the perfect Halloween evening. What are you doing this Halloween? House party, night out or are you like me? Pjs, booze, movies and sweeties!
I can’t wait to carve our pumpkin this year – I really want to try and get a green squash to try something different too! As for movies, I am feeling an ‘It’ marathon – I haven’t seen the second one yet so I think I will be settling in to watch both over the evening (or maybe two days!) x
